Welcome
Welcome to Your Artarmon Electrical Team
The suburb runs in two halves, and a nearby sparkie serves both. Leafy Federation and bungalow streets line one edge; a busy industrial and media precinct hums along the other.
We are the team across the pair of them. Our NSW Electrical Contractor Licence reads #452529C, we belong to Master Electricians Australia, and no number stays loose: it goes on paper and gets agreed before the van door swings open.
Want the fuller picture of how we run? That is what the about page is for.
Local knowledge
What Older Artarmon Homes Need from a Sparkie
Between the 1910s and the 1930s, builders packed the conservation streets of East Artarmon with Federation and Californian bungalows, most double-brick beneath red or brown tile. Nearer the station and the Chatswood boundary, that stock gives way to post-war infill and unit blocks.
Wiring in those interwar bungalows suited a much quieter household. A first-generation ceramic-fuse board is often still bolted up, and safety switches were rarely added across every circuit in the years since.
That ageing board tops our list of local jobs. There is no slot spare for another circuit, and it trips or warms up as soon as a made-over kitchen and a reverse-cycle head both draw together.
The remedy is usually a switchboard upgrade: a fully labelled board with an RCD standing over each circuit. Feeding new cable through the solid brickwork on Muttama Road and Artarmon Road is slow going, so we plot the runs ahead of quoting.
Renovations are the next big driver. A heritage-listed home under the hammer usually wants a full rewire raised to today's standards, and that sits squarely in the day of a residential electrician.
Bungalows are only half the story, too. The apartment stock ringing Artarmon Reserve and the rail line brings a steady thread of strata and unit callouts through most weeks.
Why Artarmon Locals Choose Us
Younger professionals set the tone here, and ownership splits fairly evenly between houses and units, so the phone rings for people who want a job handled well and once over. A few reasons they stay put with us.
Quick When It Counts
A slot tends to open soon, often same or next day, and the truly urgent stuff jumps ahead. Nobody deserves a week's wait on a power point that has quit.
One Price, Settled in Writing
Ahead of any work, the number is locked on paper, with no clock ticking away behind it. What you approved is what shows on the invoice, and nothing slips on at the tail end.
Backed for the Life of the Home
A lifetime workmanship guarantee stands behind each completed job. If our workmanship proves to be the culprit down the track, we are back to make it good at no cost to you.
A Track Record You Can Check
Those 600+ five-star reviews are where the good name lives. Neil, writing on Google, mentioned we sorted out a few fittings that had fallen short of code, then had us book back in to modernise his main board once solar went on.
How we work
How We Work on Every Job
From your first ring to the sign-off certificate, we move through four plain stages, and none plays out beyond your view. Here is the shape of it.
- 01
Tell Us What Is Going On
Run us through the failure, or spell out the work you want, and a local pencils in a slot to fit your day. A day ahead, your reminder text lands.
- 02
Quoted Face to Face
A sparkie calls round, weighs the work up in person, and leaves a fixed price in writing for you. Nothing budges until you give the go-ahead.
- 03
Done Cleanly
In goes premium gear, sheets spread across the floor, the room stays neat, and each circuit takes its label as we wire.
- 04
Tested and Signed Off
The whole lot gets tested, any compliance paperwork owing is prepared, and the after photos follow the moment we finish packing.
An Electrical Emergency in Artarmon? Act Fast
Certain faults have no intention of holding until Monday, and the reek of burning plastic tops the list you act on at once. Phone us the moment one of these turns up:
- A sharp, hot odour rising from a socket or the meter box
- Heat or browning felt around a switch plate or light fitting
- A safety switch flipping straight back down each time you push it up
- Sparking, buzzing or a crackle noticeable at a fitting
- A dead pocket of the home while power holds everywhere else
- Cord or cable showing burn marks, exposed copper or melted sheath
Should the entire street lose power together, the usual answer is an Ausgrid outage on the network. From the switchboard inward stays our patch, though, so ring an emergency electrician either way.
The cold season is when these calls peak. Heaters and hot water systems get worked hard in the suburb's older homes over winter, and a fatigued board buckles under the extra draw.
Isolate that circuit at the board when you can reach it without risk, then phone straight after. We answer fast, often same or next day, with the real emergencies moved up the queue.
Compliant Work That Keeps Your Home Safe
Whatever the callout was for, the completed job clears every safety requirement placed on a home, and the paperwork proving it is yours. Four commitments never waver, job to job.
Wired to AS/NZS 3000
First cut to sign-off, the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules run the job. Fresh safety switches and clean circuit labels come as standard, not a line quietly added on top.
Certificate of Compliance
Every notifiable job wraps up with the certificate submitted to NSW Fair Trading. That expense sat within the agreed price the whole way, and never surfaces afterward as an extra.
Accredited and Verifiable
Belonging to Master Electricians Australia is a credential anyone can verify directly, no faith required.
Licensed and Insured
Anyone heading up into your roof carries an inspectable NSW contractor licence and full cover behind them, not merely a friendly assurance on the doorstep.

Residential Electrician
Inside the walls and past the meter lies the whole-home trade: tracking down faults, adding circuits, wiring a reno, bringing tired houses up to code. For all of that, a residential electrician is who to call.

Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
A handful of things homeowners here like to nail down before booking. Anything not covered here, put it our way on the call.
What brands of switches and fittings do you install?
Boards get Clipsal and Hager; light fittings run to SAL and Beacon Lighting. We steer well clear of cheap imports, and a preferred range on your part is easy to accommodate.
Do you offer emergency electrical work?
Around the clock, for the genuine ones. A spark, a hot smell or lost power gets bumped up the list, with a licensed sparkie on the line first to help you make things safe.
Do you charge a call-out fee in Artarmon?
Quoting is free to arrange. Your written price is locked before anybody lifts a tool, and a first booking with us takes $50 off your first service besides.
Why do older Artarmon homes need switchboard upgrades?
Many interwar bungalows near the conservation area are still on the original ceramic-fuse board, RCDs never fitted. A replacement puts a safety switch on each circuit and opens up the headroom a renovation calls for.
How does your pricing work?
No meter runs on the hour here. A fixed written figure earns your sign-off first, covering labour, parts and testing, and the price we quote is the price you pay unless you ask for more.
Do I get a Certificate of Compliance after the work?
Notifiable work, yes. Lodging that certificate with NSW Fair Trading falls to us, and its cost was built into your quote from the outset rather than sprung on you at the finish.
